Annotation:

The article consistently presents the stages of the antiviral therapy development used in children and adults with chronic hepatitis C (standard IFN-α, PEG-IFN-α, ribaverin). The main emphasis is on the current state of the problem and on the prospects of the new groups of antiviral drugs – alternatives to the nucleosides, including the latest-generation that are acting at the molecular level. These drugs cause complete inhibition of virus replication and gene expression and they are the most promising antiviral medications.

Parameters of myocardial repolarization in young elite athletes during bicyle exercise test.

Year: 2015 (June) Number: №2 Pages: 26-32

Heading: Medical sciences.

Article type: Scientific article.

Authors: L.M. Makarov, N.N. Fedina, V.N. Komoliatova.

Annotation:

Were evaluated 425 young elite athletes 15-17 years old, members of the young Russian national teams in different sort of sport: basketball (69); baceball (29); water polo (37); volleyball (42); wrestling (35); handball (43); mountain skiing (n=23), rowing (n=21), speed skating (n=8), track and field athletics (n=11), cross-country skiing (n=12), sailing (n=8), swimming (n=4), gymnastics (n=18), boxing (n=37), weightlifting (n=10), soccer (n=29), hockey (n=10). The control group was made by 35 healthy teenagers who aren't involving in competitive sports at the age of 15,5±1,4 years. All subjects were examined by the cardiologist, also were performed 12-channel rest ECG (prone position and standing), EChoCG, bicycle test (PWC 170).

The myocardium repolarization was assessment by microvolt T wave alternans (MMA method) on system Cardiosoft 6.5 V 6.51 2, GE Healthcare, USA. In the outcome of test and at the end of each step of loading, on the 2nd and 4th minutes of recovery the values of absolute (QT) and corrected QT (QTc) intervals were measured manually. QT dynamics (an assessment of parameters of frequency adaptation of an interval of QT to heart rate) was estimated with use of the selective equation of linear regression with an assessment of the slope QT/RR parameter.

The maximum values of an interval of QTc at athletes and in control group didn't exceed 460 ms. For athletes at physical activities were typical more higher values of QT dynamics (steep slope or “hyperadaptation” of QT): slope QT/RR 0,29±0,05 in athletes vs 0,23±0,03 in Control; р < 0,001. It peculiarity can play role in adaptation of cardiovascular system to physical stress and reflect levels of physical working capacity at athletes.

Keywords:

Clinical and neurophysiologic aspects of critical illness polyneuropathy in children with infectious diseases.

Year: 2015 (June) Number: №2 Pages: 33-37

Heading: Medical sciences.

Article type: Scientific article.

Organization: Scientific research Institute of children's infections of federal medical-biological agency of Russia, Saint-Petersburg.

Annotation:

We have examined the status of peripheral nervous system in 26 pediatric patients, admitted to ICU and diagnosed with various infectious diseases. All the patients went through EMG and neurological examination. Some 17 patients were diagnosed with the critical illness polyneuropathy (CIP). CIP symptoms were found on the 5–7 day from the beginning of artificial lung ventilation (AVL), with the most common lesions in peripheral nerves of lower limbs.

Vibration stress in high speed winter sports (alpine skiing, ski cross, bobsleigh).

Year: 2015 (June) Number: №2 Pages: 44-51

Heading: Medical sciences.

Article type: Scientific article.

Authors: A.A. Lubyako, A.G. Rusiya, E.M. Solovyova, U.S. Tolstov.

Organization: Federal State Budgetary Interprise «Research and Development Center for Balneology and Rehabilitation» , FMBA, Sochi.

Annotation:

The stud on the frequency of mechanical vibration and physical stress experienced by alpine skiers, ski-cross athletes and bobsleigh racers showed that on the trails, peak stress loads may reach 15g with the frequency of mechanical vibration of 50 Hz. Thus there is a linear dependence between the athlete’s speed on the trail and the intensity of vibration stress. On the basis of the conducted research it is concluded that vibration load is significant, if not primary, part of the extreme physical effects on the body of a professional athlete competing in Alpine skiing, ski cross and bobsleigh. It is also argued that the effect of vibration of the sport equipment units at high physical loads can be considered as etiology of the vibration disease affecting the knee joints, spine, thigh and calf muscles, urogenital system.

Keywords:

Alpine skiing, ski cross, bobsledding, overstress, sport equipment units vibration, vibration disease.
